Yes, it is still slow going. I am "supposed" to be grateful for any positive movement in the world of International Adoption but I will freely admit that this last part right before referral is excruciating. I am mad, frustrated, irritable, sappy and mad (oh, I said that already).
China has now sent referrals to families registered in China up to February 23, 2006! Five agonizing days before our LID of February 28, 2006. Sounds close, doesn't it? Think again. Still could be 2 months until we are matched with Chelsee and we get that call we have been waiting for for close to 4 years! And get this, some of the families that have an LID of February 23, 2006 that should have received THE CALL have been told that their referral was not in the package their agency just received. No one knows if this is a glitch or a mistake or if it is truly what has become of China Adoptions. It scares the living #&^% out of me - if we come this far only to have some horrible snafu happen, I simply will be devastated. All these things make it soo hard to keep the faith or to put a smile on or to trust what we started so long ago! I am even having a hard time faking it outside my house like I used to be able to do.
Supposedly, our LID of February 28, 2006 contains a large amount of families. February 24th is also large, February 25th and 26th were weekend days in 2006 and have little or no families logged in. February 27th is significant too. So we still have quite a few families ahead of us even though there are only 2 real days worth before us.
I came across a song by Third Day called Merry Christmas. If you choose to listen to it, get your tissues ready....
Merry Christmas by Third Day
I hope to have some good news soon. Until then, thank you for your thoughts and prayers! We need them!
