We have a new daughter!!!

Today was the day! We received THE call this afternoon and are sooo happy to announce our newest daughter:

Name: Lu Fu Mei
DOB: May 27, 2005 (that's 3 1/2 years old)
Weight: 22 lbs
Height: 33 inches
Province: Anhui

We received a lot of information on her development which is invaluable to us.

Al has been doing the "I was right" dance all day long. He stated years ago that she would be 3 when we got her. He has had a hard time keeping his composure today but not me.....I have had no trouble whatsoever! Blubbering, that is! I truly feel blessed and thankful that this wait is over. I am relieved beyond words that my efforts really worked and China was kind enough to offer us a precious gift to raise and call our own.

And most importantly, I have melted with joy at seeing Julee's smile as she became a big sister today!

More later. Tissue time. Pictures are coming.

She's beautiful. We have an Anhui daughter too, while waiting for our second daughter whom we have requested be from Anhui, Is she from the city of Hefei?
Something about the Anhui babies....they're so very pretty to me. They also seem to be taller than most Chinese, with long legs.
Did you ask for an older toddler? For both our girls we had asked for older toddlers, and our first daughter was 1 and a half when we brought her home.

Congrats!

Congratulations on your Anhui girl! When you are ready to get her newspaper finding ad (which has a picture of her months younger than her referral photos!), as well as other information on her orphanage, etc., come visit us at www.research-china.org.

Have a quick trip!

In July, we adopted a little girl 3 years, 8 months old - she is wonderful, sweet, and such a joy! Don't worry at all about the language - they pick up amazingly fast! Enjoy your sweet girl! Blessings, Regina

Congratulations! From your daughter's name, I think she is in Hefei CWI? We are waiting on LOA for our SN daughter from there. It seems to be a "good" orphanage. Be sure and join the Hefei CWI yahoo group. Great source of info and you will probably be able to find younger pictures of her since she is 3! Blessings, Sheryl

BTW, not to ruin Research-China.Org thunder, but you will most likely get the finding ad from the orphanage director without asking for it.
Most APs can get this information from the director on their own, without paying someone else to do it (that's exactly how research-china would be doing it too).
And if she is in an orphanage run by Half the Sky (Hefei SWI is for sure), you will also be presented with monthly pictures since she's been there, as well as a journal from the nanny or foster mother (because HTS insists on this for the child).
If she is with HTS, she has been well taken care of.
