I can't believe it has been 3 weeks since we received the news we've waited almost 4 years for! The time is zooming by which is really great! I was afraid once I had seen that precious face that time would stand still before we could go get her.
But I am really busy with alot of paperwork and appointments. Letter of Acceptance (LOA) letter had to be signed and sent back to our agency asap. But first we had to read about 250 pages of information about travel and referrals and what-to-do next guides! Then I filled out four visa application$ for us traveler$! Al's Power of Attorney letters need to be notarized first, then certified by the SC Secretary of State and then authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. Al and I also visited the pediatricians office to get Chelsee's medical report reviewed and approved. We asked alot of questions and feel comfortable they will be able to handle our special needs when we bring Chelsee home.
Oh and then there is the matter of her room! The room that we have been referring to as Chelsee's room really had nothing of Chelsee's in there! So I had to purge, purge, purge all things not absolutely necessary. Spring cleaning a little early! I had to get all my winter clothes out of her closet and find somewhere to put them. Cause, let me tell you, this precious child is not lacking for clothes of her own! Generous people have been handing down their gently used clothing for years. SEVEN loads of laundry later, she now has a closet and dresser full of clothes from size 2T to 4T. There are 17 pairs of shoes too! And a giant plastic container full of clothes in larger sizes!! How loved is she already?
So, off to do more paperwork....this week should entail the POA athentication, health insurance set up and our final shots for travel. I have contacted our banks to allow them to begin gathering excessive amounts of $100 bills.
We are waiting for our Travel Approval (TA) from the CCAA so our agency can request the Consulate Appointment (CA) in Guangzhou. Once we get that appointment set at the US Embassy in China, our agency will give us travel dates!
More later....happy happy!
