That was one long 24 hour period...but we are safely in China and crashing in our fancy hotel rooms. All is well and everyone is asleep but me....
So far, we have been fascinated by the smells, the big city lights and the quietness of Beijing. After meeting up with our guide, Michelle, right outside of customs (a breeze), we took a bus to our hotel along with a few other Great Wall families. We exchanged some money, got Julee a McDonalds hamburger (she is the only one who wanted to eat anything), and bought some bottled water. Now on to sleep.....
More tomorrow after we tour Beijing....

I am so glad you guys are there safely and enjoy Beijing. We were there in June 2008 and our guide was Michelle too! Have a great time and I look forward to following your journey.
