First Day of Kindergarten AND First Tooth!!

Ya know, I didn't like this day back in the year 2000 when I sent my first baby off on that big ol' yellow school bus and I didn't like it any better TEN years later when I sent my sweet Chelsee off to Kindergarten...but this really isn't about me.   It's about a really little but very brave girl who thinks she is so big and so ready for Kindergarten, as it should be!  17 months and 4 days after stepping foot on US soil for the first time, Chelsee took another giant step ~ right into HHI's Early Childhood Center's Kindergarten classroom!  She LOVED it!  Proud mom here!

Here's Julee at 5 years old in Sept 2000:                                        Here's Chelsee, also 5, in August 2010:

And if this wasn't enough, TWO days later, her first tooth popped out!   Chelsee has never been so excited about anything...she was shaking with excitement!!!   And if I ever have any doubts about her complete adjustment to her new life, I need to remember the next morning when she checked under her pillow to see if the Tooth Fairy left her any money and a look of disappointment came over her!?!   I asked her, "What's wrong?  The Tooth Fairy left you 2 dollars, isn't that great?"  She replied, "not really, I wanted $5!!"    I just shake my head!

Happy first day of Kindergarten, Chelsee! What a memory. I sent my 15 year old daughter off to kindergarten, I guess in 2000 also! Now my little guy had his first day of Pre-K!

Even Chelsee can't let the ToothFairy forget about inflation! Just so you know, the ToothFairy leaves about a buck and some change - $2 for our kids too!
