We did it!!!!!! We finally completed every detail - every T is crossed, every I is dotted! Our beautiful dossier is all wrapped up nice and pretty and on its way to China today!!!! Thank you, God. And thank you, too, to all of you that helped me make it through this labor of love.
Our paperchase phase took 11 months, which is much longer than most. With our move to HH and Al's transfer to Charlotte stuck in the middle of this phase, we had to use creative, eye opening tactics to make it happen. It feels so wonderful to be at the end of this phase of the adoption. Now, all of our documents are "set in stone" and they cease to age with the exception of the fingerprints and the I-171H. But we will keep our eyes on them as it gets closer. I feel like I have done everything humanly possible to make sure we get to Little China just as soon as we can! Now, the real wait begins....
The China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) is still reporting 10-12 month referral times. And to be honest, I do not know if that means from DTC (Date to China) or from our next important date: the LID (Log In Date). The LID is when our dossier is logged in at the CCAA. Either way, we have a long way to go.
But we have lots to do in the meantime. Our brand new house is almost ready for us. We are looking at an end of February closing. It's very exciting. Julee has picked out the colors and accessories for her new room. Pink and purple with soccer balls, tennis rackets and baseball bats! Just like her! She is most excited about finally sleeping on a bed again! We also have a new room for Little China - right next to Julee's - although I am guessing she won't be using it til she gets comfortable with her new surroundings. When I go in there and think about her, I just can't even imagine having another little one to love and adore and take care of.
