A quick visit to Great Wall Adoption Agency

During a week's vacation in steamy Austin, TX (courtesy of my sweet sister), we had a chance to stop in at our adoption agency, Great Wall China Adoption, which just happens to be based in Austin. It was a small, pretty office suite tucked in a nice looking office building on a winding road just on the edge of the city. We met our referral counselor (Kim), the office manager (Leigh Anne) and a few of the other magic makers. It was very nice to have a face to all these names I have been emailing and snail mailing with for the past 3 and a half years. Unexpectedly, the president, Snow Wu, was in the office this day so we had a chance to talk to her as well. Julee and Snow Wu remembered each other from the East Meets West conference in Atlanta in April 2006 when they had a discussion about giving our "Little China" an American name. They all were soo sweet and caring, knowing how difficult our wait has been. They were very excited for us because they feel our time is coming soon to be matched with Chelsee. Julee asked a couple of questions. I checked on our paperwork to make sure all was in order and asked about beginning our next renewal of the fingerprints/US approval (yes, it is time).

Actually, it felt very good to meet the people that have helped us make our way to Chelsee. I know they wish they had answers for us but in the meantime, I am feeling they have our backs!
